"Legitimate Summer Camp" is the first segment in the premiere episode in the first season of StuGo, serving as the series premiere. It is also the first episode of the season overall and aired on January 11, 2025 on Disney Channel.

Plot[]

A student government (StuGo) team are sent to a mysterious island for summer camp. The kids, consisting of optimistic leader Pliny, overachiever Merian, self-obsessed Drewnipper (who quickly changes his name to Chip), happy-go-lucky Larry, wild card Sara, and oddball Francis, are excited at the possibilities on the island. They meet Dr. Lullah, as well as her dog mutation assistant Mr. Okay, and she challenges them to fix her "crime laser". While the kids cannot fix it, they do note that the crystal is burnt out. Dr. Lullah is disappointed in them and kicks them out. The kids refuse to leave and decide to venture to the other side of the island to get a new crystal.

The kids encounter a variety of weird things such as a giant crab with a disused boat as its shell, a portal that causes Larry's arm to stretch out, and what appears to be a variety of weapons and mechanicals hidden beneath the flora and fauna of the island's nature. The kids wind up meeting even more animal-human mutations on the island and recruit a fish (who has been narrating their adventure on the island) into leading the way towards the crystal. They find it on a meteorite in the middle of a lava pool and the kids quickly concoct a vehicle using a palm tree rocket. With Larry's long arm, they manage to get on the meteorite.

The kids all realize that they are stuck in the middle of the lava, but the boat crab returns and Francis feeds it an orange slice, allowing them to ride it back to Dr. Lullah's lab. The kids deliver the crystal and Dr. Lullah comes clean about the island: It's not a summer camp and she simply wanted young nerdy laborers to help fix her laser so that she can carve her face in the moon. Pliny threatens to destroy the crystal if they don't get a real summer camp, but Dr. Lullah destroys it herself and admits that she is impressed with Pliny's determination. She makes a boarding room for the kids with a disused boat and carves her, poorly drawn, face in the moon.
